Covid-19 Update Despite the current lockdown, you can still have pie! We have made a few changes to the way we are working to ensure both staff and customer safety throughout the pandemic and would like to update you on our current position.
Due to the change in government guidance for public movement, we will no longer be operating using a collection or walk in shop at Emma's Kitchen; all orders will be contact-free delivery only. Payment can be made for your order either via a secure online payment link or over the phone.
All meal orders placed from today will be delivered chilled, ready to heat at home, to ensure that our small team can deliver to as many people as possible. If you are self isolating or consider yourself to be in a vulnerable group and cannot get essentials, please contact us and we will do our best to help.
Throughout the weekend from 27th-29th March, we will also be delivering craft beers from Bond Brews Ltd and Siren Craft Brew. Please see our 'Pie to Your Door' page for a full list of available pies and beers.
We would like to thank all of our customers for your support during this difficult time. Stay safe!
Covid-19 Update! It is with great sadness that, as a result of the latest government announcement, we have had to cancel the pop-up restaurant event at Emma's Kitchen scheduled for next weekend. However, WE WILL STILL BE OPEN! During this time of difficulty, we are adapting the structure of our business to offer 'pie to your door' services to those in need. From 27th-29th March we will be offering pie meal 'boxes' for free local delivery, collection and hot takeaway from Emma's Kitchen in Twyford; meal boxes are made up of an individual pie, a choice of two sides and gravy. Alongside this, we will have a cold counter shop available for the purchase of cold pies and local craft beers from Siren Craft Brew and Bond Brews Ltd to take home. If this is successful we will endeavour to continue with this service.
If you would like to purchase pies on their own, they are always available for collection or delivery; please give us a call or drop us a message and we can arrange a convenient time. Please note that contactless delivery is available upon request and we encourage customers to use a contactless form of payment where possible.
Unfortunately we are unable to offer family sized pies at this time as a result of a supply issue with our family pie dishes.
Covid-19 Update As we continue to follow government guidelines regarding the Corona Virus pandemic, we would like to offer a further update to our customers. We are continually reviewing our position on the matter and will publish updates as the days progress and new guidance is released; the safety of our customers paramount.
We are currently standing by our decision to go ahead with the pop-up restaurant event next weekend (26th-29th March) however we will be running at a lower capacity to reduce the number of customers in the building at one time. As a precautionary measure, we will be sanitising all chip and pin devices after each use, single use alcohol wipes will be offered to all customers and condiment bottles will be removed from tables (sauces will be provided on request from the kitchen). In addition to this, we will be making some changes to the way that the ‘take away’ shop will be running, including offering take away hot pie meals for those who do not wish to eat in, and cold ‘meal boxes’ that can be purchased to heat at home. In addition to the ‘take away’ pie meals, local beers from Bond Brews and Siren Craft Brew will also be available to purchase to take home.
We hope that these measures will enable our customers to continue to enjoy a pie meal whilst following social distancing advice. In line with these social distancing guidelines, we will also be introducing the option of ‘contactless delivery’ for customers requesting pie deliveries, to be implemented immediately; this will include the delivery of cold ‘meal boxes’ (available for the weekend of 26th-29th March only) and ongoing deliveries of ready to bake pies. We urge those who have booked a table at the event to contact us to confirm your booking or make changes where necessary. We advise that those who are considered vulnerable, are elderly or pregnant do not attend and follow self-isolation advice. Over the next few days, we aim to have our online shop back up and running to enable customers to purchase pies for collection/delivery. Thank you for your continued support.
Corona Virus Statement... In the midst of the Covid-19 madness, we thought we should issue a statement to inform our customers of what we are doing to prevent the spread of infection at Rural Pie Co. As our customers are aware, hygiene is the top priority for the team and we continue to practice effective hand washing techniques using antibacterial hand wash and wear protective food grade gloves when handling food to limit contact. Our kitchen, food stand and pop up equipment/venues are thoroughly sanitised before and after each use, and high contact areas such as handles, tills and payment points are sanitised throughout the day. At our hot pop up events, hand sanitiser is available for both staff and customer use and we encourage our customers to make use of this before eating. We are currently continuing to run all of our events but are closely monitoring government guidelines for food businesses to assess the risk and make changes where necessary, we encourage customers to use contactless payment methods where possible. All staff are screened before the start of their shift, including a body temperature check, to ensure that they are not showing symptoms and are asked to stay at home if they have been in contact with someone suspected to have the virus. We would like to thank our customers for your continued support and look forward to seeing you at our next event!
